Harvey couldn't help but scoff after seeing the serious look on the bald inspector's face.
He finally understood that this place was completely lawless, he knew fairness and justice didn't apply here, either.
That said, he wouldn't feel any regret if he used some of his connections later.
"Are you toying with me?!"
The bald inspector felt humiliated after seeing Harvey's mocking look.
He slammed the table, furious.
"I'm warning you, b*stard! This place is all about being fair and just!"
"I'll sue you for slander if you keep running your mouth!"
Harvey smiled
"Fine. I've been waiting for those exact words anyway"
"If I told you that I only fought back after the Cobb family took action first, would you believe me?"
The inspectors looked at each other, then scoffed.
"The Cobb family's one of the South Sea's great families. The family's filled with outstanding people!"
"Why would they throw hands against an outsider like you?"
"They did this to force Katy Cobb to marry Gael," Harvey replied calmly.
"She's being forced?"
The round-faced inspector showed disdain.
"Do you know who Gael is? He's a well-known young master in Blackburn City!"
"People wouldn't even dare dream of marrying someone like that!"
"Why would they need to force Katy?!"
"Besides, does this have anything to do with you?"
The round-faced inspector was getting more and more annoyed
"You should just confess already! I'll just lock you up and head home."
Harvey chuckled.
"Why not investigate the situation on your own first before jumping to conclusions?"
"Are you lecturing me?" the round-faced inspector screamed, her face icy.
Harvey couldn't be bothered to continue the conversation.
"Hand me my phone. I'm going to call someone."
Harvey didn't want to waste any more time talking with the inspectors.
The bald inspector's face darkened instantly.
"Answer the questions properly! What do you need a phone for?!"
"Can't I just make a phone call to a friend?" Harvey asked calmly.
"Don't you get it?"
"Before I'm charged with a crime, I still have the right to contact anyone I want."
"Oh? You know the laws here, yet you're still committing them?"
The round-faced inspector sized up Harvey before throwing the phone to him.
"Make the call! I'd like to see who your so-called friend is!" she exclaimed, scoffing coldly.
"Nobody in Blackburn City can get you out of the situation! I'm sure of it!"
Harvey was planning to call Julian to get Inspector Failes, until...
"Huh? Why are you here, Harvey?"
A person walked by the door and took a few steps back after seeing Harvey's face. Soon after, a surprised voice could be heard.
A middle-aged woman and a younger woman could be seen when the door opened.
The inspectors instinctively stood up. "CEO Moreno! Ms. Moreno!"
Harvey looked over, Ellen was standing in front of the door.
He didn't know why she showed up here, but she still looked as gorgeous as always in her short Chanel dress.
